For hundreds of years before the white man came, the Piute Indians of Central Utah journeyed to a legendary sacred spring known for its extraordinary healing powers. In the early 1920's, an ailing rancher named Thomas Clark was led to this same spring by one of the few remaining Indian elders. Soon after drinking the water he under went an amazing recovery. Encouraged by this result he became determined to unlock the secret of this mysterious healing spring. As he followed the spring back into the surrounding mountains he came upon a deposit of unusual material, which the spring water was flowing through. It was later determined to be the elemental remains of an ancient rain forest, uniquely encapsulated and preserved in their original plant form for over 100 million years! When this material was analyzed, it was found to contain a startling spectrum of over 70 different minerals and rare colloidal trace minerals. After months of experimentation he developed a leaching process to extract and concentrate these minerals and began passing the "miracle liquid" out to his friends and neighbors. Some of the letters he received were truly remarkable and by word of mouth only, its use began to spread across the country and into several foreign countries. Thomas Jefferson Clark's son, Thomas Jay Clark, in his fascination with the product, did further research to determine why the product produced such dramatic effects on people's health. He believed the product had unusual electrical properties. This was later confirmed by a special electronic wavelength test done by Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp, one of Germany's foremost biophysicists. The minerals had a natural negative charge, known as colloidal bioactive minerals. Colloidal mineral supplements refer to liquid extracts of minerals mainly derived from humic shale deposits or from aluminosilicate-containing clays. Humic shale extracts predominantly contain sulfates of iron and aluminum and traces of colloidal metal hydroxides. The term colloidal mineral is derived from the presence in these preparations of colloidal metal hydroxides. However, many of the minerals are present in ionic forms. In addition to the sulfates of iron and aluminum, colloidal minerals from humic shale deposits contain zinc, nickel, manganese, magnesium, calcium, chromium, boron, copper, lithium and silicon. They also contain traces of several other elements including arsenic, vanadium, strontium, selenium, iodine and praseodymium. Similar minerals may be found in colloidal minerals derived from clay and from plant sources. Humic and fulvic acids are found in some preparations. Interestingly, humic acids convert minerals into more useable forms for plants. It is believed by some that minerals in colloidal form are more easily absorbable than minerals in solid form (tablets and capsules). Colloidal minerals are sometimes referred to as liquid minerals. However, some supplements marketed as liquid minerals are generally different from the so-called colloidal mineral supplements. They are liquid mixtures comprised of chelated minerals, ocean minerals and mineral citrates, as well as some colloidal minerals. Colloidal minerals are delivery forms of trace minerals. They have putative enhanced-absorption capability. The presence of these essential minerals are fundamental to your health and a marked deficiency of any or all will commonly cause disease. Without minerals in our diet, our bodies are unable to properly utilize the nutrients our bodies need! Colloidal minerals are organic and are easily absorbed by the body to help you replace those minerals that your body needs everyday. The presence of these minerals are so key to one's health, that a marked deficiency commonly results in disease. Fact is, most diseases currently plaguing humanity (heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis, alzheimer's, etc.) are symptoms of mineral deficiencies and are virtually 100% preventible. The majority of people who die of natural causes, actually die of a mineral deficiency. Pregnant women and nursing mothers should avoid supplementing with colloidal minerals. Those with hemochromatosis or those with any condition of iron overload should avoid colloidal mineral supplementation. Iron is one of the richest minerals in these supplements. Those with hepatolenticular degeneration (Wilson's disease) should avoid colloidal mineral supplementation because of the presence of copper in these supplements. Those who do use colloidal minerals should refrigerate the bottle after opening. Those who require mineral supplementation should be aware of the great variability of minerals in these supplements from batch to batch.
